Huey in The Garden Party'
|Huey Freeman (Comics Version)|
Huey Freeman is a 10 year old african-american boy living with his brother and Grandfather in the almost all-white neighborhood of Woodcrest,Illinois. Huey is the main character of The Boondocks Comics and the animated TV series The Boondocks. He has an estranged relationship with his brother and grandfather. In the animated series Huey is voiced by Regina King.
Huey Freeman is a precocious young boy, who condemns the standings of society. Huey does not allow anyone to get in the way of his plans for the world, and he believes that he can reshape the world and lead it himself, even though he doesn't seem to be avaricious.
Comic Book Version
The Huey of the animated series retains much of his comic form, though he is smarter and kinder in comic form. He is also a year younger than his animated version, and is seen often with his best friend Micheal. His afro is noticably bigger in the Comic Version.
Huey is noted by many as being a domestic terrorist, but more than likely this is just over blown media speculation. He seems to fit the 'modern day Black Panther' description better, often wanting to take a more violent route to what he believes is correct.
